Sob o Mesmo Céu
Quinta do Alçada, 2019-2021
Sob-o-mesmo-Céu is a project supported by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, through the PARTIS initiative, and the association InPulsar, directed at children between 7 and 15 years old and residing in the neighborhood of Quinta da Alçada in the city of Leiria.
Within 3 years, the project’s goal is to promote the development of various competencies with a particular focus on the development of artistic practices and the children’s relationship with their space. As one of the agents of the project’s artistic goals, Colectivo Til seeks to direct the children to an awareness of the material and social space they inhabit as a way of promoting their capacity to reimagine and transform this space. We work upon the idea that the processes of collective construction offer a great opportunity for the strengthening of communal networks of support, while promoting and nurturing a creative awareness towards the surrounding material world.
We approached this project within the perspective of “learning by doing.” Through the collective construction and manipulation of various materials, we seek to promote Quinta da Alçada’s inhabitants capacity to comunicate and make decisions over their space. This process will eventually materialize in the shape of interventions in public space.
